Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for work
- Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, legislative requirements, industry standards, codes of practice, manufacturers’ specifications, environmental obligations and workplace procedures are identified, applied and monitored
- Resources including cleaning agents, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools are obtained and inspected for compliance with job specifications, in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)/Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and workplace procedures
- Work is sequenced and prioritised, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Potential hazards are identified and prevention and risk control measures are implemented, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Work area is prepared, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Conduct industrial plant and equipment cleaning
- Surfaces are applied, where required, with suitable cleaning agent to assist in release of soil or oil residue, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and workplace procedures
- Cleaning equipment and accessories are operated, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and workplace procedures
- Industrial plant and equipment is cleaned, in accordance with the workplace procedures
- Residual waste is directed to suitable disposal points, in accordance with workplace procedures and environmental legislation
- Final cleaning inspection is carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Complete industrial plant and equipment cleaning
- Work area is cleared of waste, cleaned, restored and secured, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Industrial plant, tools and equipment are maintained and stored, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Cleaning completion details are finalised, in accordance with workplace procedures
